Re: Ceramic Brake pads
Finally have my set of ceramic pads installed! Almost unnoticeable initially but after awhile I appreciate the new pads! My brakes have this funny "guk" sound when it's cold, every time I start my car and climb down the MSCP, I apply my brakes and I hear the "guk guk" sound. This sound will disappear once I have driven the car for sometime, assuming that the brakes are already heat up so no more sound.
With the new ceramic pads, no more sound when the brakes are cold... could be it's still new, anyway will make a mental note of this and see if the sound will come back once my brakes hit 20K mileage. Braking is also a breeze, just a light tap is sufficient to bring down the speed considerably. Have not tried hard braking yet but overall I'm very pleased with the new pads, more confident braking and less stress, will recommend you guys to ditch the stock and OEM pads and give the ceramic a try.

Re: Ceramic Brake pads
The "guk" sound is from the old stock brakes, today after one whole day in the MSCP, I drove off my car with NO more "guk" sound when I break. I think the ceramic pad is very good, while driving out for dinner tonight, the brakes did justice in a hair raising incident , from now on it's going to be ceramic pads all the way! So bro PL let me know when you going to order more of the pads, if my finances allow me, I will be stocking up on this pads!

Re: Ceramic Brake pads
Had another braking incident yesterday, was on the PIE yesterday heading towards Orchard for some shopping. I was driving quite relax, going between 80 to 90 km/h according to the speed limit. The expressway was quite crowded as usual, so I keep my distance from a taxi infront of me. Just a split second I took off my eyes and glance to the left and when I look ahead again, the taxi infront of me brake. Must have been a split second kind of reaction and I apply my brakes quite hard, ABS did not kick in most probably because the car came to a near complete stop and my distance to the front taxi was still about one and a half car length. I over react and the brake bite was simply too good that it almost come to a complete stop.
Lesson learn, with good brake bite, its not only necessary to keep your distance, but you must also ensure that the rear car did not follow you too closely. I was fortunate that the taxi following me from the rear was also keeping his distance, otherwise if he had follow me too closely he would have rear ended me for sure. I would have certainly stop in time but I doubt if a car following me to closely would have done it in time to avoid me. Hiaz, its such a hassle to drive in Singapore nowadays with so many cars on the road even on a Sunday.

This is my observation, when using my stock brake pads, after washing the rims, normally for me my travelling distance in a week the dust is already visible but in two weeks time the sight is almost unbearable. With the ceramic pads, there are still dust but after 2 weeks of usage, my rims still look clean.

Not sure coz i bought mine from Rockauto.com. Very straightforward - ceramic pads (Bendix CQ) cost USD28.95 add courier by Fedex USD25.00. Pay by c/c and got the stuff in 5 days. I might want to do another purchase so if any bros interested can join in. We can save a bit of the courier costs. Furthermore, USD now quite favourable.

Overprice la bro, you better work with bro Pussy Lover for the ceramic brakes, he has got a better deal, I check your link, the brakes cost US$56 and the shipping to Singapore is US45 via USPS Priority Mail which can take up to 3 weeks to reach here and in total you are paying about US$101 or about SGD 131.00. Howver I do notice they have the SSBH as well.

Had mine for slightly more than a year. Haven't check the wear and tear but brakes still biting well. Will check at next schedule servicing in March and decide whether to order another set or not. I'll keep you 2 (SS & Stoned) in mind but not sure for Aveo though. Perhaps, SS can check on the correct part no.

This would be interesting to know, my guess you only went thru 25% of your brake pads after more than 1 year. Keep us updated for the tear and tear of the ceramic pads.

Re: Ceramic Brake pads
not sure am i right or not...
OPtra here n CANADA is hvg the same type of brake applications?
if yes...the model no will be D1036 for optra Ceramic bendiX CQ pads.
Bendix CT3 oso good..but too bad ...rOCKAUto nvr carries them..
superior performance than CQ ones.otherwise yummY..
