2012 The End of Earth

I didn't watch this movie at the cinema but from a "P" DVD, nothing much to rave about the storyline as it's base on the Mayan calendar that stops at 2012, thus the speculation of the end of the world. This movie is in the same genre of Independence Day which I rated highly and also ..what's the name of the movie where the world will experience the Ice age again? They are in the same boat where the world will self destruct due to us human abusing it will all our technology development and pollution and the green house effect and what not!

Perhaps if it's at the movie house the effect would be better with the Dolby sound surround but graphically it was a bit cartoonist when the earth opens up and chunks of the earth fall in to the ocean, even the tsunamis scene don't really look convincing or scary. Maybe it's me, but the build up to the big scenes are a bit anti climax, one reason is that the destruction is experience from afar, as most of the time the characters are up in an airplane, if they had been more on the ground in the middle of all the destruction, then maybe the effect would be there to feel the fear and the awesome power of mother nature. My 2 cents for a 2 bit movie.

doesnt air turbulence occur during the tsunami n earthquakes + volcano shooting lava..?
nice special effects but not to my expectations,

Day after tomorrow wins this show many many times!!!

2012 seem to be lacking something that both my wife and I cannot put a finger to it. Luckily we didn't pay the price to watch it at the cinema. Day After Tomorrow is more gripping.

Most important, knowledge can save you as the main focus are on the scientist... So make sure our children are edequately educated to prepare for their future... anyway you can also be stupid as long as you are rich!

bro...if u notice in the show....the person who discovered abt the climate change was a scientist from india....n he died together with his ppl...hehehe.....even clever also no use if u r not ang moh n rich....hehehehe....

Okay la you got a good point there, we are all doom to die ... maybe only the ah mohs can continue to live,maybe to them we are just like pests!
