Shoot out - Outcome
Beautiful morning, and happy to report only two member turn up for this photo session. No theme set for this photoshoot, just getting our feet wet a little bit but overall I must say that I come out of this session learning a little about composing pictures as well as reading the lighthings. Here are some of the photo shots taken, post processing and will try to put more when time as well as storage space on this board permits!
This is my interpration of sunrise over Changi

Playing with shadows and shades in B & W

Look at the sailboat to the furthest left as the shadow of the sun hit the side of the boat which I manage to capture... and I'm surprise that I manage to do it..

Another experiment on composition

Something that caught my eyes as the tide rises and swirl around this particular rock, manage to get the sense of speed by freezing the water as it flows over the rock.

More pictures can be found in my gallery, just head on down there and enjoy the view.

Got some shots posted in my gallery. Just some test shots during the outing that bro Bow and i went this morning. I know they are not perfect plenty of room for improvements but all the same makes good practice. Personally, prefers portrait shots but for practice, this outing ok lah. Think next outing must do night shots or go to the Treetops Walk.

B&W is a brand name. What filter are you suggesting? As for me no special programs. Just some editing using the camera itself.

Bro, all filters are screwed into the lenses. Normally, we use UV filter to cut off ultraviolet rays and at the same time protect your expensive lenses. You see, it's much cheaper to replace a scratched filter than a scratched lens. You can also use skylight filters for better contrast of the blue sky. You can also use a polarizing filter (normally referred to as PL filter) to adjust contrast in scenery shots. There are other special effect filters but let's not go there as it'll just confuse you further. Other brands of filters include Hoya, Kenko, B&W etc etc.. Oh yes, Nikon also produces filters, the L37C is the UV filter. I should know coz i use it on my manual Nikon lens. Hope i've managed to explain the use of filters to you.. Need to know more, just ask.

No problems bro. You'll be surprised what a compact digicam is capable of now..

Yes a compact cam will hold many surprises until you feel a need to expand your creativity and improve further in your skills. Critical stage bro Major, get a good camera, your kids are young only once and must capture their moments before they grow up otherwise you need to keep on making babies...
Anyway here are some more shots butr not from the original photo session on 13th March... enjoy it...
