heard tt if u ever gonna buy a new OPC car...the offset of 17k will be paid in 10 years..
u pay full price of the current car price inclusive of COE...then a rebate of appr $1420 is being transfer to ur acct as long as u are the owner till up to 10 yrs.
if happens u sell of the car...the new onwer will also njoy the rebate till he put up the car for another "adoption"
unlike the time we bought the car ..offset of 17k will be instant.
put ur views..am i on the right track. Question

Where you hear this bro?

If this is true then in my opinion, what's the point of buying OPC? The general idea is to separate the usage, whereas if you don't use much of your car you opt of OPC, secondary reason people get OPC is because of the $17K difference which you save on your financing.

Having to put up with the $17K upfront, you will have to put in more on your financing interest which the finance company will benefit. If I have to upfront the $17K might as well just stick to normal car which would defeat the purpose of OPC if more people are like me.

its rumours on frens tt i cum across with on issue of new OPC car.
its like the 17k will benefit the first owner rather then u subsequents ones.
im speculating this coz of the current 2nd hand onwership is as expensive as the new ones.
i MAYBE wrong..i will get in more facts in the future if i visit the showrooms again.

Yes very keen observation, I have yet to see a red plate SKB Very Happy Logically, if you are paying say $100K normal plate for your "drive as and when you like" or are you willing to park a $83K weekend plate and "drive only weekend"? Most people just fork out the extra and get to drive as when they like it. Furthermore with the new scheme, the tax break is less interesting.
