Road Trip to KL - 15 Aug to 17 Aug 2009
Hi all, posting from KL. Left Singapore last night at midnight and arrived at Ascott, KL just around 4 am after a brief stopover at Ayer Keroh for about45 mins. The journey was smooth, and quite enjoyable. This trip I'm using my carbon charger instead of the open pod, mixed reaction . Performance wise is from sluggish to fantastic, so I don't really know how to put it in words.
The CC is most responsive in the the range of 100 to 150 km/h and the RPM is between 3K to 4K. Push it a little more and the rpm hit 5K with the engine roaring and the power kick in ala turbo with a surge! Don't quite like that, my average speed up here is between 140 to 160 km/h and the top speed my Magnum hit was about 183 to 185 km/h and manage to hold that speed for quite sometime without straining the engine. The best part when I hit the top speed my RPM was at 4K
Anyway the findings are inconclusive, as I did not service my car coming up here with the engine oil hitting more than 10K. My intake is also not optimize. Anyway, I love my Optra, this car is one solid cruizer. Even had a race with a Kia Spectra along the way. Must have scare the shit out of him, cause i slowed down to allowed him to overtake me and he was going at my cruising speed of 150-160 km/h, just a matter of time before I catch up and pass him.
Anyway it 5 am now, waiting for morning prayer and then off for breakfast, looking forward to the fantastic farmer's loaf they have here. Simply fab with butter off the toaster! Yummy!

Wow! Must be the racer in you..Not surprised at your findings. Think almost the same as mine, only you hit a higher top speed. Optra is a stable, steady cruiser, that gives you confident even at high speed. But the ride is only as good as the driver. Cruising at 150-160 km/h is a joy and you don't feel the engine straining itself.
Enjoy your trip bro and have a safe journey home..

ThaNKS bro for the well wishes, I'm safely back in Singapore now. Arrived back home at 1 pm! Just in time for my son to go for his soccer game! I'm off to work at 4 pm.. so going to get some shut eyes ... the journey back was uneventful.
BTW congrats on your new CC set-up. Enjoy your ride bro.
