Swine Flu now known as Mexico Flu

The so call Swine Flu or what is known now as the Mexico Flu is the hottest news this past week, and Singapore has upgrade the DORSCON health warning to " ORANGE ". So how many of you guys are impacted by the health warning?

This will greatly inconvenience our lifestyle and hopefully it gets downgraded real fast otherwise going around crowded places will be a hassle and not forgetting border crossing.

Ya, i think i got to brief my offc staff if you have flu like symtoms go see a doctor and don't come in till doctor clears. Was thinking of temperature taking exercise every morning but need to check with HR first. Prevention better than cure..

Daily temperature taking highly encourage at level " Orange ", but your building the security never check before the allow access to the building?

my work place are to take temperture twice daily with the reocord of name, contact no, i/c nos, address, temperture etc.....it a prevention like SARS period but now hor....all the thermometer out of stock.......

Wah like that should have anticipate this move and buy all the thermometer last week and sell it double the price this week!

Seem like everyone is complaining lack of thermometer to go around.

but the thing about this widespread pandemic is...the virus works like any normal flu juz like seasonal flu..
cough,running nose,teary eyes n fever..
it wont be detected till it goes full blown..
having to take this precautions is a measure of which the GOVT wants to curb the spreading nationwide...they oso have setup the ALOHA LOYANG chalet to be the isolation centre for those who gotten the BUG VIRUS..mcm prison liaoOOO..esp Hongkong Metro Hotel..

Do they provide room service? Sounds more like going to a retreat rather than getting confine!

Its Aloha Loyang lah, at Pasir Ris. It's a resort type of accommodation with a swimming pool. Read Sat edition of New Paper that the govt is taking over the resort as a quarantine. Some families were told to vacate the place and was only given 1 hour to pack up. Imagine the frustration and anger after preparing lots of food and told to leave. The place is now off limits to all..

Should further clarify this post, the resort qurantine is meant only for foreigners. Local will be served with a home quarantine order. Failing to do so will result in a $10K fine.

So if you are a foreigner and on your way to Singapore without lodging..ehem aka backpackers and if you have a slight fever, tendency is that you get to stay in a resort for free for 7 days...offcopurse sightseeing is not included in this free package stay.

wat the pt to self quarantine at home? wat happen really kenna, the family members oso kenna without notice it.....it got 7days to noticfy.....dunno wat MOH instruction.........

for our land checkpoints..will it have thermal sensors or physical check up wen we going J.B?

So far only for those coming and going by bus need to go thru the thermal scanner. They have not yet announce for those going by cars.

Ya downgrade because it's not deadly and can be treated with the Tamiflu vaccine. It's within control, most likely the "rojak" incident is thus far more deadly than the Mexcian Flu
