Series of Photo Shoot
I start off with what I think is a workable time-table for a series of photoshoot. You guys are welcome to join me whenever possible, but best to SMS me first just incase I'm off to somewhere.
1. Landscape - Sunrise
Date : 9 Aug 2011, Tuesday
Time: Between 6.30 am to 8 am
Location: Lorong Halus Wetland
Objective: I will be shooting with my 35mm and 50mm mainly, there is a particular bridge that span across the Serangoon River that I would like to be on to shoot the sunrise. The view to the East where I expect the sun to rise will cover the Serangoon Dam, hope the outcome would be spectacular. There are other subject as well such as the bridge itself, and if you are lucky and arm yourself with a long lens, you might just get shots of water bird.

Re: Series of Photo Shoot
Should be ok for the first shoot. The second one TOC for me but barring any unforeseen stuff, should be ok. Perhaps this would be a good excuse to get the 24mm lens.

Sunday morning you go church?
Lor Halus Wetland lor, it's a small place, you see my car and should be able to see me la. If not just walk towards the river and look for the bridge, I should be on the middle of the bridge.

Re: Series of Photo Shoot
A lucky shot, a bird flew in front of us, I think this is a humming bird. I just the rest of the guys got a better shot than me because this was taken on my manual lens, just shoot without confirming the focus.

And this will be the reason that I'm going to love my Pentax A-50mm f/1.7, nice bokeh rendering.

Re: Series of Photo Shoot
Sorry for delay as was having problems with my home broadband connection. So here are the shots, no post processing involved. These are straight from the camera. Sunrise2 has more cloud details, using ND filter.
Sunrise1 - 18-105mm lens at 58mm. 1/60sec, F8

Sunrise2 - 18-105mm lens at 52mm. 1/320sec, F11

Your Sunrise 2 has got good cloud details, what's your setup for this shot, as in filter used? BTW notice that this shot was taken at speed 1/320s @ F11, your water surface would have been more smoother if you close up your aperture and slow down your speed further, since you are using tripod, no worry about camera shake at low speed.
Flower shots, very nice for No 1 but for No 2, still need practice bro, it's not easy to take flowers due to the shape you must find the correct angle to make the flower stand up, nice rendering of the bokeh at f4 for your 50mm, my advice is to keep this lens.

Re: Series of Photo Shoot
The sunrise shots were taken at landscape mode. Should have tried slower speed but didn't cross my mind at that time. Point noted. The second flower shot was a bit tricky. The focus point is off slightly. In this instance, manual focus is better. Still learning...Thanks for the comments/critiques.

No problem, we are all learning, so it's good to correct each other
