Re: BCS(brake stopper cylinder)
What the ....BCS that's the company I'm working at, for a moment there it got me going...we do have many on going project didn't know my company was also into motorcar industry!!
Nothing much gain from the diagram shown, all I can make out of the diagram is the flexing of the firewall and the stopper is introduce to prevent that. How some posted that they gain "performance" improvement by having better brake bite, I cannot really comment as I cannot simply make any sense out of the whole thing. Maybe it works on a Suzuki as we all know how some Jap car are made from tin can (tin susu) but so far I think our Chevy don't need this. Usually the firewall is one solid piece of metal, flexing might occur but most unlikely because brakes are usually hydraulic, meaning it is assisted by combination of moving parts, fluids and etc, by stepping on the pedal, you are only exerting a fraction of energy to stop a moving mass that is 100 times greater. I have never feel the need to stomp on my brake pedal, even in an emergency situation.
That says another mod that does not make any sense, if you don't believe me you can try out a simple experiment. Drill a hole in the firewall, when you are doing that see if the metal flex or not. If it does than this mod is for you. Then ask yourself why do you need to drill the hole?

Re: BCS(brake stopper cylinder)
ntahlah brO...from my point of view including ur point...seems for me to rethink on how the design actually works.i say...hooking up with a good carbon rated pads n SSBH would do suffice to the stopping momentum.upgrade to bigger disc if HP has being mildly increased.change to bigger pot if HP increased by that very much.

I would agree that it does not make any sense, if you look at most brake set-up, you have the pedal, then the firewall then the big round brake booster before you come to the cylinder it self. The big round booster if you base on the area of the surface that attached to the firewall would not promote flexing, furthermore if you base on the lever system, it's one in one out if you get my drift

Re: BCS(brake stopper cylinder)
Not convinced if this really works. Anyway, a good read. Will stick to ceramic pads and perhaps SSBH. Think this is sufficient for my daily commuting, no tracking.
