Malacca Photo Shoot

As mentioned in one of my post, this Malacca Photoshoot will have to happen

This is the outline of the photosession and all are welcome, even non photog if you want to hang out with the boys.

This session will be an OVERNIGHT trip, so if you can't sleep without your wife, we will provide you with one Just kidding!

Day 1
0630 - 0700 Depart Singapore
0900 - 1000 Arrive in Malacca
1000 - 1400 Jalan-jalan and photoshoot (1st Session)
1400 - 1430 Check in hotel
1430 - 1630 Rest to re-energise before 2nd Session
1630 - 1730 Review Session
1730 - 2000 Sunset and night shoot (2nd Session)
2000 - 2130 Dinner (looking at seafood dinner in Umbai or something like that)
2100 - 2300 Night shoot (3rd Session)
2300 - 0000 Review Session
End

Day 2
0600 - 0800 Breakfast
0800 - 1000 Photoshoot Session 3
1000 - 1200 Rest and Review Session
1200 - 1230 Check out
1230 - 1330 Lunch
1330 - 1400 Depart Malacca
1600 - 1700 Arrive Home

Will try to make it a fun trip and also sharing session.

We are looking at either the first or 2nd week of October for this trip. Accommodation will be 2 to a room so that we can save cost as well, and we will be looking at no frills hotels and the budget will be between $50 to $100. If we are sharing transport, the cost will also be shared i.e toll and petrol. Will be posting development on this thread and also looking forward to fedback as well.

Your itinerary seems ok but we can always adjust as we go along but think there only 2 souls probably interested in this trip. We'll see...

Oops will need to reschedule... 2nd Oct I have a wedding, close relative must attend and the following week bro PL will have to attend to personal matters, therefore taking into account of expenses may need to push this trip till the end of the month, sorry for any inconveniences.

A bit OT but are there anymore kampungs in our outlying southern islands? Or is Ubin the only inhabited island left?

theres one in BuanKoK area..been to the entrance only...did not venture inside.
Ubin is the nex best kampong.
i got kampong on POnTian THough..will post pics during recent trip there.

If it's Batam maybe la, but Malacca can only provide batang Hang Tuah if you guys interested

Bro, for this foto shoot, i'll have to opt out. Something came up and i'm not in a right frame of mind to go. Was looking forward to the trip. Hope we can postpone it as i'm still keen to go. Have spoken to bro Ikon at length and my apologies for pulling out late.

No problem bro, I don't really consider this as late as the dateline given is 14 Oct 2011, anyway wish you all the best and may you get back the right frame of mind soon. Officially this trip is postpone to some other suitable time and age.

Finally made this trip, although not an overnighter but a few hours stop over on my way to KL. Manage roam about the street testing out my new old camera, a Pentax MZ-5N film SLR. Here are some of the result of the photoshoot on negative and scan to digital.

This place is a treasure trove for photographer and a few hours is not enough, I manage to cover only one location near Jonker Street area and came across the Makam Hang Jebat . Met an interesting character there as well, the unofficial "caretaker" of the makam and had an interesting conversation with him. Certainly worth a re-visit to old town Malacca and I like the output of my film SLR which gives that "dated" look to the images. Enjoy!

Not really la, I think there might be something wrong with my set-up, there seem to be plenty of lights coming in from the left side...dunno if it's my lens, camera or my scanning.
